Overview

Asset management involves long term planning for built assets, infrastructure and equipment, medium term partnership and contract commitments and short term operational management. Asset managers forecast and seek funding for the long term whilst contract managers ensure maintenance, operations and project contracts are delivered effectively over the medium term. The facilities manager works with both the asset manager and the contract manager to ensure that immediate organisational needs are being met and that the necessary plans and systems are in place for the medium to long terms.
